What is CBD?

CBD – Cannabidiol is a cannabinoid, which is part of the hemp plant. It started to be used in different therapeutic treatments targeting respective illnesses or conditions. All the products we stock are organic and from a reputable source.

Do CBD products make me feel high?

No, CBD does not have any psychoactive effects and the minimal percentage of THC (usually <0.3%) does not affect you. CBD products are not the same presentation of cannabis that would be used for illicit or illegal drug use.

What are CBD products made of?

The CBD used in products such as CBD oils, e-liquids, tinctures, creams, and drops is usually extracted from hemp plants and not medical cannabis. This is  because of its higher CBD concentration and lower THC content.

Will I test positive on drug tests if I use CBD products?

No, you will not test positive on regular drug tests because they usually screen for THC. However, if the test is designed to test for all cannabinoids, the result will be positive. Remember, CBD Oil is perfectly legal in the UK and the USA so being tested positive for CBD is not a crime. CBD products are used for their natural health benefits- they are not an illicit drug.

What are Cannabinoids?

Cannabis plants contain several compounds such as cannabinoids, which represent active compounds in the plant. So far over 111 cannabinoids have been discovered, whereas Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the most popular ones. Both of them show promising results for medical purposes.

Is it possible to overdose on CBD products, e.g. CBD oil?

No, CBD products do not put you at risk of overdosing, even if you ingest or apply more than advised / prescribed. CBD products bought from a reputable stockist ensure you only use high quality, organic ingredients. There are no additives used in our products that cause any risk to your health and well being.

Are CBD products legal?

In most countries (including the UK), CBD products are not illegal due to the minimal THC content (usually <0.2%). THC is the extract in hemp which is  generally the illegal compound of the hemp plant.

As a consumer, you are not liable for any of the legal implications concerning CBD products as long do not trade them and just buy CBD  products for your own personal use.

How is CBD oil made?

There are three different ways of extracting CBD oil.

  1. Ethanol method: The extraction of CBD oil using ethanol is common but the alcohol is known to destroy some of the beneficial natural oils.
  2. CO2 method: This is the purest form of CBD extraction and it is achieved by forcing CO2 through the plant at low temperature and high pressure. This method is the most expensive one but the one that creates a clean, pure product.
  3. Oil method: A carrier oil (such as olive oil) helps to extract the CBD oil from the hemp plant. This method is becoming more popular due to it being free from residues as well as including benefits of nutrients of the carrier oil used.

How do I choose the right dosage?

There is no general answer to this question and differs from person to person. Dosage depends on the condition, the intensity of the CBD product and on how your body reacts to it.

Most CBD oil producers recommend taking 3 to 9 drops of the oil sublingually, (under the tongue) 3 times a day. If you want to take CBD for your headaches, to fall asleep easier or for other light conditions you can start with a low dosage and increase it until you feel the desired relief. If you suffer from a more severe condition you should discuss it with your doctor or a doctor specialised in Cannabinoid treatments.

      Does CBD cause side effects?

Generally, this answer can be answered with a “no”. There have been very few reports about bad side side effects of CBD. The side effects experienced were an irritated stomach, some drowsiness and lower blood pressure. Some of the side effects (e.g. diarrhoea) could, however, also be caused by a poor quality CBD product. To reduce the risk of unpleasant side effects, we recommend purchasing your products from a reputable stockist that can vouch for the purity of their stock.
CBD products may interfere with some medications, we therefore advise you to talk to your doctor or a doctor specialised in Cannabinoid treatments before using CBD products.
